Harper’s Secret Agenda

There is a growing population that believes Prime Minister Stephen Harper has a looming secret agenda. It’s a stealth agenda that will creep up behind his iron curtain of secrecy. This apparent agenda is to secretly dissolve same-sex marriage in Canada along with many others. There is a great number of the population that fears Harper. They strongly believe he plans to bring Canada back to the 1960′s where women are subjects of the supreme male. They fear Harper will change all liberal laws, remove same-sex marriage, abolish abortion and create a supreme conservative God-fearing communist government along with his radical MP’s that will troll the country under the rule of the Great Harper.

Fear is rising and a new story is behind much of the renewed fear. Out of the suggested 15,000 same-sex couples who have been married in Canada 5,000 have been couples from other countries. There appears to be a reversal in policy that couples who come from states or countries that do not recognize same sex marriage are not legally married. Recently a lesbian couple who were married in Ontario in 2005 filed for divorce. However their divorce was denied as it was suggested they were never legally married. Their marriage was not deemed legal as they could not have wed in England or Florida where the couple lived.

Harper has continued his stance that he has no intention of opening or changing these laws. This was the same suggestion I had made during the Election that Harper will not Change Abortion or Gay Marriage Laws. It’s a political suicide that he will not commit. There are a great number of Christians who would like to see some of these laws changed. Especially abortion and rightfully so. We have talked a great deal about abortion on our site and support change of these laws. At the moment the main focus of fear are the same sex marriage laws. Is Harper secretly harbouring an agenda to eliminate same-sex marriage? Here is what he told The Globe and Mail reporters regarding the above mentioned divorce case.

“In terms of the specifics of the story this morning, I will admit to you that I am not aware of the details. This I gather is a case before the courts where Canadian lawyers have taken a particular position based on the law and I will be asking officials to provide me more details”

Apparently many are not buying his statement. One of those people is David Miller, the former mayor of Toronto, he said it was “sneaky and underhanded” of the federal government to say foreigners who married in same-sex ceremonies in Canada are not legally married. “I ran a major government — the sixth largest government in Canada — and I can tell you that this kind of decision would not happen without the Prime Minister being briefed,”

Is this a case of lawyers taking a legal stance as Harper suggested? Or is this the beginning of a dark room agenda about to unravel?

In all fairness to Mr. Harper I do not believe he is unleashing secret agendas. In his now nearly 6 years of office as Prime Minister he has not attempted to change any of these laws. Yes this is the first time he has had a full majority but as we know there is no bill or legislation on the floor to amend any of the mentioned laws.  He has continued to repeat that he is not opening these laws, yet the fear increases.

It is safe to say the big secret agendas do not exist. Rest assured liberal fear mongers, your fear only causes more stress than its worth.
