Planned Parenthood’s 40 Days of Prayer An Outrageous Contradiction

Planned Parenthood – a self proclaimed “health” organization and a fierce defender of “women’s rights” has decided on an unusual and mind-boggling strategy to promote their services. They have decided to pray.

PP has launched a 40 day prayer vigil – much like the 40 Days for Life Campaign prayer vigil held by pro-lifers – but instead of praying for the babies they are killing in their clinics they are instead praying for the mother’s having abortions. They are praying for safe travels for the mother, protection from harassment from pro-lifers who are also praying around the clinics, and probably also – most despicably – a speedy and safe abortion. Get this, PP is praying for “a cloud of gentleness to surround every abortion facility”. Notice they are not praying for gentleness inside the clinics were sharp metal instruments, power tools and dangerous chemicals are used to murder human life. And they are not praying for gentleness in the way they react to the pro-lifers who pray outside.

Is this not, besides actually murdering babies, the most disgusting and twisted thing they could do? To try and align themselves with religion and a God that created and values all human life in order to sugar-coat their public image while dispatching that life inside their clinics is an outrageous contradiction. It is a blatant lie and misrepresentation of themselves. How dare PP call on “Christians everywhere to embrace the loving model of Jesus” while they destroy innocent human life while also causing terrible emotional, mental and sometimes physical damage to the mothers themselves. How dare they even claim to be Christian and to even assume that they have some standing with God that he would hear their prayers so they can continue to “care” for and “defend” women. Shame on anyone who calls themselves a Christian and stands with them.

Planned Parenthood clinics routinely have pro-life protestors arrested and prosecuted. They disparage and vilify religious people who would rather see a baby given up for adoption than butchered. They accuse those who support a baby’s rights of hating women. They attack and slander 40 Days For Life – a campaign that actually prays for the mothers and their babies – but then they steal that same idea – prayer – something that is good and wholesome and they violate it.

How twisted to pervert prayer and to claim that those who pray to protect innocent life are in the wrong and that prayers should actually be offered to expedite the process of abortion and protect those performing them. Planned Parenthood can find no justification in the Bible or in Christianity for their beliefs or actions so why are they trying to use religion and prayer as tools to achieve their goals? Because people will fall for it. They believe they can sway people to support their cause by appealing to religious sentiment, to fake human rights and to this vague notion of “love” and “gentleness”.

Many people will fall for PP’s deception like the “Christians” who are already taking part in this lie. But we have to be smarter than this. The true purpose of prayer is to know God and accomplish his will on earth. Obviously, murdering babies and prayer do not belong together.
